What we’re about
Hiking with Friends is a group from Walnut Creek Friends Church and others who enjoy hiking the hills in Contra Costa County and other Bay Area locations. This group is for anyone who enjoys making new friends and exploring the great outdoors while developing stronger relationships with Jesus, nature, and one another.

Round Valley - Miwok / Hardy Canyon Loop
Round Valley Regional Preserve, 19450 Marsh Creek Road, Brentwood, CA, USI hope you can join me on this hike at Round Valley. I’ve been waiting over three years for this trail to reopen. Although it is still officially closed, the field office tells me it’s OK to use with caution. Many people have continued to use it and have established a new path for us to follow.
So I’m looking forward to once again enjoying the challenge, beauty and views of this moderate-to-difficult 4.6 mile route with 1,020 ft elevation gain. Let’s meet up at the trailhead at 9:00 am. Be sure to bring layers and hat to wear, sturdy shoes to hike, water to drink, a snack to eat, optional poles to steady, and as always an attitude for making friends.
You can also meet me at the Walnut Creek Friends Church back parking lot at 1950 1st Ave. in Walnut Creek for carpooling if you like leaving at 8:10 AM.
