I look forward to having you join me on this hike in the Fernandez Ranch John Muir Land Trust. This moderate 6.25 mile hike includes a variety of environments including open grassland, shaded oak forest, and top of hill overlooks. Elevation gain is a mostly gradual 919 ft with stunning views and scenery. The hike is located south of highway 4 in Martinez on the way to Pinole.

Dogs are allowed off leash under voice control.
• Logistics:
Lets meet at the trail head parking lot at 9:00 am. The address is 1081 Christie Road, Martinez. Note: From Concord be very careful when you get back on highway 4 eastbound - the cars come up VERY FAST! Also Christie road is a "minor" partially paved road on the right - immediately BEFORE the train track under crossing.
Plan on a warm hike and be sure to bring plenty of water, a hat, sturdy shoes or boots, a snack, and as always an attitude for making friends.
