Flaxton Walkers Camp and Baxters Falls
Details
This is a return hike along part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk in the Kondalilla National Park.
This starts at the trailhead just off Flaxton Mill Road. The walk takes you through a variety of environments: rainforest valleys to waterfalls and rock pools. It is home to a variety of fauna and flora including birds, reptiles and frogs.
The trail is well marked in some parts and not in others. It’s easy and downhill to the beautiful suspension bridge, river and waterfall (try to plan after rainfall so the water levels are sufficient). It's a great place for a swim so don't forget your swimmers! The walk back is consistently uphill.
If you are comfortable climbing, bouldering and rock-hopping you can get to the base of the falls and then up to the main pool of the falls. Also, you can turn it into an overnight camping trip by staying at Flaxton Walkers Camp.
Highlights of the walk:
- Baxter Falls
- Crossing the suspension bridge
