Come join us for a preschool paced 4km forest walk at Pacific Spirit Park. I will have some Forest scavenger hunt printouts but feel free to have your child bring anything that helps make the walk fun for them.
Jogging strollers are ok on this route but I’d discourage them and encourage the littles to walk as much as they can.
This will not be an exercise walk for the adults. Preschool pace includes tons of stopping to look at bugs, slugs, leaves, find twigs and watch them go down streams etc.
We will start at Camosun and 39th ave and end at Camosun and 37th making this an easy loop that brings us back to our vehicles.
We are planning to start moving at 10am, but will wait 10 min for late arrivals. If you sign up and can’t make it, please let me know so we don’t wait for you.
The walk is flat and we will stick to off leash trails with the exception of one small section. This means lots of dogs will be around us, but I’ve always found them to be well behaved for the most part.
The trail can have muddy areas so good waterproof footwear is recommended.
There will be bathrooms half way through and near the end.
Please bring plenty of water and snacks for your child/ren.
Dog are welcome, but the following will be strictly enforced
1. Must be on leash for the first/last 200m as per bylaws.
2. If unruly (chasing running children, jumping up on people, not having good verbal recall, excessive barking/herding) you’ll will be asked to leash them
3. Must be leashed on all leash required trails.
