Hello there! The Group has been on hiatus due to dislocating my knee. I'm mostly healed up now and we're back in business! I apologize to everyone that was looking forward to events and that I wasn't as responsive as I would've wanted. I hope you can forgive me and reset back to our love of our doggies and hiking.
I would love for you to come explore with me and Azi (my chiweenie) the massive Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket, RI . Let's meet up at the Dog Park to start. Can't wait to see you there. :)
This a place where you can spend a whole day with so many different activities available and events. There are two entrances at Newport Ave and Armistice Blvd. Ample parking.
It's an estimated 200-acre Olmstead designed park, 1895 historic Looff Carousel (oldest Looff stander carousel in the world), 11 ballfields, 10 tennis courts, 13 picnic sites, one basketball court, Daggett Farm, Animal Shelter, three-acre Class C fishing pond, 2.2-mile linear bike trail from Tomlinson Athletic Complex on Daggett Avenue through Slater Memorial Park to Kimberley Rock Athletic Complex in Rumford, the Pawtucket Dog Park, Friendship Gardens nature preserve, Marconi Gardens (weddings), Parks & Recreation administrative office, various outdoor art sculptures, Rhode Island Watercolor Society, Adventure Playground featuring climbing wall, space nets, slides and swings.
