DETAILS
9.1-mile loop trail near Muir Beach, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes ~4 hours to complete. This is a very popular area so we'll encounter other people while hiking. Friendly dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The first ~2.5 miles we will ascend 850ft continuously, then level off for 1mile. Next 3 miles we will descend down to Tennessee Beach, then ascend 550ft over next mile before mostly descending to Pirate's Cove, a small climb and then back to our cars. There will be a couple of steep inclines on this trail. The hike is mostly unshaded. Be prepared, wear layers, bring sun block if needed and bring at least 1.5 liters of water.
