Highlights Tour of Glencairn Museum

We'll take the Highlights tour at Glencairn Museum at 245pm. $15 per adult and $12 for seniors/students according to Glencairn Museum. Museum members and children 4 and under can enter for free. Reservations are required. MAKE SURE TO SIGN UP AHEAD OF TIME. Free passes available at some libraries.

Glencairn Castle, now an antiquities museum, is one of the most incredible places to visit in the Philadelphia area. No expense was spared when it was built in the 1920's and 30's. This is a world class structure. The museum makes The Cloisters in NYC look second rate. If it's not too hot we'll walk the grounds after the tour.

Glencairn Castle is one of the 100 largest houses in the country. #73 on the Wikipedia list. It's the former home of Pitcairn family. In 1979 after the death of Margaret Pitcairn the castle became an antiquities museum.

If we have time and it's not too hot, we'll walk the grounds which are like an arboretum. We'll schedule an outside walk around the museum, cathedral, and college when the weather cools down.

Carpooling
To carpool from Hill House (201 W Evergreen Ave, Phila) meet 45 minutes before the event. Carpool time changes if hike time changes. Text me 215-2474459, 3-4 days in advance.
