4-5 hours with lunch, 10-12 miles, brisk pace, historic city walk down Germantown Ave with lunch in town. Will take the train back. If you live in town, you can take the CH West/East train to the starting point in Chestnut Hill.

From the Chestnut Hill area Germantown Ave slowly curves through 7 different neighborhoods into 2nd & Girard in Northern Liberties. We pass through Chestnut Hill, W Mt Airy, Germantown, Nicetown, Kensington, Fishtown, and Northern Liberties. Many of these areas along the route are now gentrified. We only do this hike in colder weather because of the lack of shade.

Of great significance, in route we pass about 42 historic houses, structures, and mansions dating back to 1700 including the Germantown Whitehouse where George Washington once resided.
