Big Apple Spring Walk
Details
745am to 4pm, 9-12 miles, brisk pace, Penn Station via Times Square to Columbus Circle. After lunch in this area we head through Central Park with a special visit to the Conservancy Gardens. Then onward to St John The Devine, the most spectacular church in NYC, maybe the nation, and Columbia University. If the weather is good and the park is not overly crowded we may just loop back through Central Park skipping Columbia U and St Johns.
Just about every block is cool. If we hit it right we can see 30000 tulips around Central Park and the Conservancy. There are also an incredible number of flowering trees in Central Park. Fewer visitors in NYC this time of year so it will be more enjoyable. $10 event fee if you are not a calendar year member.
DETAILS
We meet at the Hamilton Station of NJ Transit at 745am next to ticket counter to take the 804am train arriving 9:32am at Penn Station NYC. If you board elsewhere meet us in the back car of the train, upstairs if its a double decker. In NYC you can meet us outside the bathrooms of the separate NJ Transit part of the station around 935am. Return Trip: We plan to take the 315 train from Penn Station, or the 352 back to Hamilton.
Carpooling
To carpool from Hill House (201 W Evergreen Ave, Phila) meet 1 hour before the event. Carpool time changes if hike time changes. Text me 215-2474459, 3-4 days in advance.
