Centennial Maze Loop Hike
Details
3-3.5 hours, 7-9 miles, brisk pace, rollercoaster hidden trails in the woods, pass by many historical and cool places, fall colors often spectacular in this heavily forested area. Third try for this one. Each hike is different. Last hike here till spring.
The Centennial Maze Loop hike takes us through a hidden maze of trails in the heart of Fairmount Park. Our country's Centennial was held in this very location in 1876. We'll pass by many remnants including The Moses Statue, The Please Touch Museum, The Ohio House and various passageways and hidden structures.
There are also a wealth of incredible newer structures like the Strawberry Mansion Bridge with a boardwalk larger than the one in Atlantic City, The Fairmount Park Arboretum with a green house with bananas, The Pterodactyl Bird House (my name for it), The Japanese Gardens and House, The Belmont Mansion, and more.
