Architectural Gems of Philadelphia Neighborhoods: Market East/Chinatown
Details
2.5-3 hours, 2-3 miles, brisk pace between stops, best buildings in Philadelphia's Market East/Chinatown neighborhood, lunch afterward if there's interest.
This is the last (for now) of our cycle of hikes to the most impressive architectural gems in a series of Philadelphia neighborhoods. For this one we will hike through the Market East/Chinatown neighborhood, which tends to be overlooked because it sits between Old City/Society Hill on its east side and Logan Square/Rittenhouse on its west side. This is a shame, because every one of the 12 buildings we will be visiting is a masterpiece. You seriously won't believe that this many incredible structures exist within just a few blocks of each other.
As always, no knowledge of architecture is needed . . . just an interest in seeing beautiful places and a willingness to stay with the group.
