Lower Wissahickon: Penllyn Park to Germantown Academy

3-4 hours, 8-10 miles, mostly flat, some hills, shady, great for summer, trails right along the Wissahickon.

We'll take the Green Ribbon Trail from Penllyn Park towards Germantown Academy. Before we reach the Academy we'll turn around and head back.
The trails goes right along the Wissahickon. Mostly shady. Not many hills. Great views of the Wissahickon.

PARKING
There are several fields at Penllyn Park. Each has it's own lot. Make sure you look at the map to meet us at Talus Field which has 2 lots. Meet us near home plate if the area is crowded.

FYI
The lower Wissahickon area is the Wissahickon Creek area right outside of Philly. The Wissahickon meanders about 14 miles south from Upper Gwynedd Township to Wissahickon Park in Philly. The Green Ribbon trail runs right along the Wissahickon for about 13 of those 14 miles. We have 2 different lower Wissahickon hikes and one upper Wissahickon hike besides the many Wissahickon hikes in Fairmount Park.

CARPOOLING
To carpool from Hill House (201 W Evergreen Ave, Phila) meet 35 minutes before the event. Carpool time changes if hike time changes. Text me (215 2474459) 3-4 days in advance.
