City Hike: Architectural Gems of Philadelphia Neighborhoods
Details
2.5-3.5 hours, 3-5 miles, brisk pace between stops, visiting the most beautiful buildings within a Philadelphia neighborhood, possibility of lunch afterward if there's interest.
We are starting up a new cycle of hikes to go see the most impressive architectural gems in over a dozen Philadelphia neighborhoods. Each week I will bring pre-planned routes, all between about 3 and 5 miles, with each route covering a series of stunning buildings all contained within a single neighborhood. The group will decide which neighborhood we will visit, so it's choose your own adventure!
The first 3 hikes in this series will depart from 30th Street Station. Here are the neighborhoods we will cover, one each week:
- Architectural Gems of University City and the University of Pennsylvania Campus
- Architectural Gems of Fitler Square
- Architectural Gems of West Philadelphia (Beyond University City)
As always, no knowledge of architecture is needed . . . just an interest in seeing beautiful places and a willingness to stay with the group.
