What we’re about
Hi All!
Hiking for Brews is just like it sounds, we hike and then check out a local brewery afterward. This group is for all ages- we have had hikers range from 22-70!
We typically have hikes biweekly on Sundays, and are central to the greater Baltimore area, occasionally throwing hikes in as far south as Calvert County and as West as Frederick. Attendance ranges from 10-60 people. The hikes are easy-moderate, under 15 miles but usually ranging around 3-7.
We are an easygoing group who just want to get out, get some exercise, meet new people and grab some beer. If that sounds like you, please join us! Generally dogs are welcome, but some breweries are not dog friendly so we will designate which on the event posting itself.
Guidelines:
- Don't be an asshole.
- Read the event description in full. Most questions can be answered there.
- Update your going/not going status within 24 hours of the hike if you've changed your mind. Don't DM me. Just update your status.
- Here's what I won't do for you (sorry!)
- Determine your physical capabilities for you. We include as much information about the hike in the description including the AllTrails link. Recommend reviewing the AllTrails reviews and making your determination on whether to participate.

See all- Little Bennett Regional Park X Idiom BrewingLittle Bennett Regional Park - Kingsley Parking Area, Clarksburg, MD
Hey all!
We will take a hike at Little Bennett Regional Park and then head over to Idiom Brewing in Frederick. We will do a lollipop-style trail (Western Piedmont, Sidewinder, and Dark Branch) that is about 6.8 miles long. The trail is mostly flat, with a total elevation gain of 442 feet, and a mix of gravel and dirt/rocks. (Trails can be muddy if there has been recent rain, so hiking shoes or boots may be most appropriate.)
**Due to limited parking, please only drivers of vehicles RSVP**
The trail is considered moderately challenging and we will be taking it at a brisk pace (likely around 2 or so miles per hour). The hike should take around 2.5-3 hours, and Idiom Brewing is about a 25 minute drive from the Kingsley Parking Area. The trail is dog-friendly (though dogs must be leashed), however, dogs are only allowed in the patio area of Idiom unless they are service dogs.
Idiom Brewing also has a kitchen that opens at noon, so food will be available. You can access the menu through the brewery website below.
The Kingsley Parking Area only has space for about 16 vehicles, so we will be limiting the number of people for this particular hike. For this reason, carpooling is encouraged. Please only RSVP for vehicles--so if you are carpooling, only have the driver of the vehicle RSVP. If you're bringing someone with you, please comment below to let us know. Also, if you can't make the hike, feel free to join us at the brewery around noon!

Hi All,
Josh will lead us on a 4.2-mile loop on the beautiful Rose River Trail, featuring 3 waterfalls. We will take this at an easygoing pace to allow time to admire the falls and stop at the multiple waterholes to dip your feet/legs into the water, and at Rose River Falls for those who want to swim.
This hike is rated moderate for rocky sections of the trail and a 900' ascent at the end of the hike.
We’ll then head back East on US-211 for “brunch and bluegrass” at Death Ridge.
