Wednesday After Work Bike Ride (Albany County Rail Trail 15+-miler)

Details
Not for beginners. This is 15+-miles bike ride and includes an uphill grade on the return ride from Albany. The pace will be leisurely-to-moderate, if some would like to go faster we may divide into two groups. Meet at 6:00PM at the big red barn on Hilton Road in New Scotland; ride starts promptly at 6:05PM
15+- miles RT out and back bike ride on the Albany County Helderberg Hudson rail trail, east to Albany and back. *** Experienced, fit riders only. Helmets required Please wear bright outer layer and have a bike bell.*** Sunglasses recommended as we will be riding into a low setting sun on the return leg. The trail may be busy with other bike and pedestrian activity, so proper rail trail etiquette is expected:
- Bicyclists should yield to pedestrians.
- Travel at a reasonable speed and in single file when path is crowded.
- Avoid startling others; announce “on your left” then pass with care.
- Move to the shoulder when stopping on the trail.
Biking is an inherently dangerous activity; by participating in this event you agree that you alone are fully responsible for yourself and are participating at your own risk.
Bring hydration and snacks. We may make a pitstop at Stewart’s on our ride back from Albany for ice cream if people are interested. My cell 5184613982 if needed.
