Sunset on Cat

BEFORE SIGNING UP - PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION & BE SURE YOU WILL BE PREPARED. DO NOT SIGN UP JUST BECAUSE 'THIS LOOKS LIKE FUN!' ... IT WILL ONLY BE FUN IF EVERYONE IS PREPARED & ABLE TO HANDLE THIS HIKE

We will hike up the red trail from Edgecomb Pond to Cat's summit. This route is fairly steep (1,000 feet of elevation over 1.7 miles). We will watch the sunset & the (almost) full moon rise before heading back down. Sunset will be at 7:20pm & the moonrise will be around 7:30.

For the trek down you will need a headlamp ... AND a back-up headlamp. Be sure both headlamps are fully charged or have new batteries. A flashlight is ok ... headlamps are better (the trail will be much easier to see with a headlamp ... this will help you & the other hikers).

Be sure to dress for the weather (extra layers may be needed for the summit), bring plenty of water/electrolytes & a snack (if needed)

Dogs are welcome on my hikes, but they must be leashed & under your control while on the trails (6ft leash max ... no retractable leashes) (in this case, this is especially important since half of the hike will be in the dark)
