Owl's Head

Owl's head is approx. 6 miles with 1500 feet of elevation gain. The first 2 miles are relatively flat, and the last mile is quite steep with some rocks to scramble. There is a fire tower with excellent views of the high peaks & the surrounding lakes.

Be sure to be prepared for colder weather (time to break out the extra layers & microspikes!). It is hunting season so have a bright outer layer (orange is best).

Dogs are welcome on my hikes as long as they are leashed and under your control while on the trail.

We can carpool from the Exit 18 park & ride (Media Dr, Queensbury) at 7am. Anyone wishing to carpool from the south should arrange among yourselves.
