Hopkins Mt via Ranney trail is 6.0+- miles RT hike and has elevation gain of 2140’and Summit elevation 3183’. Some steeper sections . We will also be utilizing a portion of the Mossy cascade trail.Excellent view of several of the high peaks from the summit.
Meet at the Roostercomb trailhead for parking at 745am. Trailhead parking is on Rte 73 in Keene Valley, or about 10 miles after you exit Northway exit 30 and heading towards Lake Placid.See map.

Carpooling suggested ( Clifton Park Northway,Exit 9 Park n Ride, other regular spots,etc. )as it is foliage season. Drive time from Clifton Park exit 9 is about 1hr 40 minutes.Must be in very good physical condition for hiking. Have appropriate non cotton hiking clothes for cold weather (wear bright outer layer and /or orange cap for hunting season),boots, microspikes.Bring water/electrolytes ,lunch, carpool $. We can stop for food and beverage on the way home for those interested. By participating in this event, you agree that you alone are responsible for yourself and are participating at your own risk.
