Mount Race and Race Brook Falls, Sheffield , MA -B2B

Mount Race lies on the Taconic Ridgeline in Sheffield Mass. It has a top elevation of 2365'. We will climb it via the Race Brook Falls Trail and Appalachian Trail, about 7 miles RT. This is an out and back hike.Elevation gain is 1625' . Moderate hike with some steep sections. Views of Mt. Everett, Alander Mt, Bear Mt, Catskill Mts, and the Housatonic River Valley. You should be doing regular aerobic exercise to participate. Dress for the weather in non cotton clothes and wear sturdy hiking boots. Bring water, lunch, snacks ,bugspray/headnet,and carpool $. No dogs please. Meet Defreestville Pand R 630am. See map depiction for Pand R location.We will make a Pit stop at Stewart’s in Hillsdale on the way down. We can stop for food on the way home for those interested. You are responsible for yourself and are hiking at your own risk.
