**Not for beginners** Meet at the Nassau Lake trail head just north of Nassau. We will bike 12.7 miles to Kinderhook, then back for a round trip of about 25 miles. Plan for 3 hours or so.
There are 10 to 15 parking spots at this trailhead, so the event is limited to 20 people. Car pool if it's convenient!
See the trail link at Albany-Hudson Electric Trail. This (12.7-mile one-way) Empire State Trail section is part of the 36-mile Albany-Hudson Electric Trail, which runs from the Hudson to the city of Rensselaer. The segment starts at Albany-Hudson Electric Trail Nassau Lake Parking area north of the village of Nassau in Rensselaer County, at 221 County Rd 7, and goes to Rothermel Park in the Village of Kinderhook. This segment is mostly an off-road rail-trail with a mix of stone dust and paved surfaces. There are some on-road sections, sharing the road with vehicle traffic.

All usual, remember to prepare for sunblock, hydration, snacks and insects. Let's talk about going somewhere for lunch afterwards during the ride.
