8 miles RT out and back hike primarily along the Appalachian Trail and featuring distant views from Lions Head 1729’ and Bear Mountain 2316’ summits. 1600 feet elevation gain. Dress for colde weather and wear hiking boots. Microspikes and snow shoes? may be needed. Bring hydration, lunch,snacks and carpool$. No dogs please.Meet Defreestville Park and Ride North Greenbush 6am to carpool.We will make a pitstop at Hillsdale NY Stewart’s on way to trailhead. We can stop at the Chief Martindale diner in Craryville or four Brothers Pizza in Hillsdale on the way home for those interested.
