Prospect Mountain Sunset and Fireworks Hike

Hike Prospect Mountain to the top to view the sunset and then we will walk down to a parking area to view the fireworks over Lake George. We will start from the trailhead on Smith Street in Lake George At 6:30 pm. The hike is a 1.75 mile steady uphill climb to the summit where we will get great views of a summer sunset. We should have approximately 30 - 45 minutes to grab a bite to eat, socialize and then start to walk down the road at 8:30 sharp.
This should get us to the rest area around 9:20 for the start of the fireworks at 9:30. The fireworks show will last approximately 15 - 20 minutes. From there we have approximately a half mile walk back to the trailhead. We are usually back to the cars around 10:15 - 10:20 pm.
Be sure to have proper hiking gear - sturdy boots/shoes, a fleece or light jacket for the summit (it does get a bit chilly, even on a very hot day). Bring a snack and plenty of water to stay hydrated. HEADLAMPS OR FLASHLIGHT 🔦 IS NECESSARY for the hike out. If you've never been on a hike before, please don't let this be your first one if you're not in shape. This is a challenging hike, and you should be in good physical condition to attend.
