Greetings Spring and camping out of Orange County, but not too far, it's still in SoCal near Malibu at Point Mugu State Park!

We'll spend both Friday and Sat. nights camping April 29 and April 30, coming back Sunday May 1st after a hike. CAMPSITES ARE FULL, BUT YOU'RE WELCOME TO JOIN US DAY HIKE ON EITHER SAT. OR SUNDAY, MAKE NOTES! (You may get first come first serve campsite on the day)

PLEASE SIGN UP ONLY YOU MEAN TO GO, if you have a habit to take a space, just indicate MAY BE when RSVP as we need a number for booking campsites. UPDATE your RSVP when you will arrive!

Camping Fee about $15/person for 2 nights (may be few more $ to pay for the extra cars as only 1 car includes in each campsite, other cars have to pay, $12/car/night) We'll be at Sycamore Canyon Campground: flush toilets, hot showers, beautiful ocean views, coastal chaparral, spring flowers, a peaceful wooded canyon and some magnificent sycamores. 1. Day 1 (Fri. April 29): Meeting at Sycamore Canyon Campground 3PM for a relax sunset hike (2-3 hours TBD) Dinner at 7:30PM, campfire and relax time...
2. Day 2 (Sat. April 30): Optional Sunrise Yoga-Meditation at 6:30AM
   Hike 1 at 8AM (meet at Sycamore Campground; duration 4-6 hours; distance 3-12+miles, elevation 200-1500ft) A big loop: Sycamore Canyon-Boney Mountain-Deer Canyon starts at Big Sycamore trail, to Overlook-Backbone trail, continue to Old Boney trail, to Serrano Canyon trail and back to Big Sycamore trail to the trailhead. (Those who like a smaller loop for a shorter distance should take Big Sycamore trail instead of continue to Serrano Canyon trail loop)
   Hike 2 at 4:30PM (meet at Ray Miller trailhead, duration 2-3 hours, distance 5 miles, elevation 500+ft) This is a shuttle hike: Ray Miller, La Jolla Canyon to Sycamore Campground. We'll carpool out to Ray Miller trailhead at La Jolla Canyon, get up the Backbone trail, connect a little bit to Overlook trail, continue downhill to the campground. We have ocean view the whole way with a short beautiful hike at sunset.
   Dinner at 7:30PM, group campfire
3. Day 3 (Sun. May 1st): Optional Sunrise Yoga-Meditation at 6:30AM
   Breakfast and break camp at 8-9AM, optional hike at 9-10AM or leave. We will hike Point Mugu Peak and loop to La Jolla Canyon trail. It's a shuttle hike or a longer loop. Drive to Ray Miller trailhead and leave few cars, then carpool to Chumash trail trailhead. Duration: 3-4 hours, distance: 6+ miles, elevation: about 1000ft.

ABOUT POINT MUGU STATE PARK: located in the Santa Monica Mountains, features five miles of ocean shoreline, with rocky bluffs, sandy beaches, sand dunes, rugged hills and uplands, two major river canyons and wide grassy valleys dotted with sycamores, oaks and a few native walnuts. There are more than 70 miles of hiking trails. The beach also features swimming, body surfing and surf fishing. The park includes the jagged pinnacles of the Boney Mountains State Wilderness Area. Carpool Locations:

1. OC Park and Ride: 1PM Suggested carpool meetup is at the Park-n-Ride in Orange off the 55N Lincoln/Nohl Ranch exit. Park-n-Ride entrance is on Tustin, across from Von's parking lot. Traveling NORTH on the 55, exit Lincoln Ave. West. Make 2 lefts, go under the freeway and take a left onto Tustin Ave. heading South. If you're traveling SOUTH on the 55, exit Lincoln and make a left on Tustin. The Park & Ride will be on your left hand side. You'll need to make a U-Turn to get to this side of the street

2. 3PM At State of California: Point Mugu State Park, 9000 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, Los Angeles, California 90265
