2017-Nov: Joshua Tree-Wonderland of Rocks, Baker Dam and more/Level 2

This is Day 1 of HIKINGOC ANNUAL WEEKEND TRIP (https://www.meetup.com/HikingOC/events/243453410/) IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK (https://www.nps.gov/jotr/index.htm)!

We'll have little bit rocks scrambling at "the desert park full of Rocks and famous Joshua Trees", Wonderland of Rocks (https://www.hikespeak.com/trails/wonderland-wash-joshua-tree/), Barker Dam (https://www.nps.gov/jotr/planyourvisit/upload/BarkerDam.pdf) and some other trails (about 5-8 miles RT, few hundred feet gain.)
Difficulty: the event is rating Level 2 (Moderate) for desert climate, distance, elevation and pace. ***Transportation: The drive is at least 2 hours one way from Orange County. We'll help to arrange carpool if need to.
***What to bring: wear hiking clothes (loose shorts/pants), swimming clothes, hiking boots or shoes, sandals, hat, sunscreen, water, snacks, food and camping gears (if camping)

GOOD TO KNOW: Here are things you need to bring with:
- To prevent Mosquitoes: Insect repellent (just in case)
- Sunscreen (hot during the day, high in the 70s-90s)
- Layer clothes (cold at night, low in the 30-40s) and personal items needed.
- Hiking shoes, sandals, swimming clothes, we may stop by a hot springs on the way back.
To buy Hiking Gears: check out with Sport Chalet, REI for quality gears: shoes, clothes and camping gears or short term use gears at Target or Wal-Mart with decent price. You can see them online before going to the stores to check out.
