GOOD TO KNOW : Wear hiking shoes, hat, sunscreen, bring plenty of water, snacks, a light lunch and The Ten Essentials for outdoor hiking https://www.meetup.com/HikingOC/messages/boards/thread/9535234

Route : We will have moderate short hikes for those who are not up for the summit or strenuous hike to San Jacinto peak via Marion and Devil’s Slide/Humber Park.
We will be hiking the Devil's Slide trail/Humber Park, Deer Springs to Suicide Rock trail, Marion Mountain trail, and sightseeing Idyllwild town.
More discussions when meeting, but this is the up route via Marion Mountain, shortest and steepest to get to the peak: almost 6 miles in almost 4800ft gain. Follow this trail to the PCT, turn left, and follow the PCT until it intersects with the Fuller Ridge Trail, stay right and ascend the Deer Springs Trail past Little Round Valley to the intersection of the Peak Trail. Climber up the rocks to the summit.

ABOUT: Idyllwild is nestled in the San Jacinto mountains. Set among tall pines, sweet smelling cedars and Legendary rocks. The town has kept its "small town" atmosphere. Locally owned shops and restaurants are all you will find here. Come and experience the peace and quiet of Idyllwild. If you are ready to get away from the traffic jams, or the noisy city life, this is the town for you. Idyllwild has perfect day hikes for the quick weekend hike, as well as the high country for the longer "over night" hiking journeys. At 10,834' Mt. San Jacinto is the second-tallest peak in southern California. Many people have seen it. Fewer still have hiked it. We will hike few trails that will lead to the peak, but not summit this time.
