Enjoy a 14-mile drive through gorgeous scenery! Carved into a horseshoe shape by a glacier, this paved two-lane highway follows the canyon along the base of 10,909-foot Carson Peak.

The loop is also known as State Route 158.

What to see:

  • Lakes: The loop passes by four glacial lakes, including June Lake, Gull Lake, Silver Lake, and Grant Lake.
  • Carson Peak: The loop follows the canyon at the base of 10,909-foot Carson Peak

There are several spots along the way to stop and enjoy lakes, campgrounds, stores, restaurants, and read signs about the geological highlights, and take pretty pictures! 📷

You can google junelakeloopdrive for more information.

DIRECTIONS: Start anywhere along the June lake loop State Route 158. As part of the loop you will have to transfer on to the 395 to get back to June lake.
