# Convict Lake Loop: One of the Best Easy Hikes in the Eastern Sierras
Convict Lake, in the Eastern Sierras off Highway 395, is a beautiful place to explore. While there are many trails, the most popular is just the 3 mile loop around the lake which the the hike we plan do do today on the way home from our June lake week. It is hard to believe just how much beauty you can see in 3 miles, and the Convict Lake Loop is not one you will soon forget. It boasts pristine turquoise waters and awe inspiring mountain vistas.
Convict Lake is located right off Highway 395 in between Mammoth Lakes and Bishop. The drive up to the lake is beautiful with large mountain peaks looming in front of you. When you make it to Convict Lake there is a small parking lot near the boat launch
The trail about 3 miles total that follows the shoreline. The trail is relatively flat at an elevation of 7,850ft.and about 200 feet gain.

DIRECTIONS: From June lake take 395 south about 20 miles and exit Convict lake road and continue strait about 2 miles to the parking lot near the boat launch.
