JUNE LAKE LOOP TRAIL TO YOST LAKE-LEVEL 2+

Details

One of the June Lake Loop's standout hiking trails, the 8 mile RT trek to Yost Lake along Yost Creek climbs steadily up a High Sierra ridge. Expect to be hiking in both shade and sun, with demanding inclines and great scenery. We will have the option to go another 2 miles one way branching off to Fern Lake or descending back down into town. (For those brave enough the extra 2 miles-4 miles RT will add 1500 feet of gain).
Note: There is another group doing the same hike at 8 AM

You can turn around anytime you’d like but try to stay with another hiker as then you will be on your own. NO LEADER OR SWEEP ON THIS HIKE.

Hike Stats:

Distance : 8 miles RT
Elevation Gain: about 2000 feet
Hike Time: about 6-7 hours
Difficulty: moderate to strenuous
Trail Condition: steep and very rugged in sections
