Summertime on the mountains. It will be 15-20 degrees cooler with clouds on Big Bear this weekend. Gray’s Peak or Castle Rock will be a nice hike on the mountain ⛅️

7 AM meet at trailhead

ABOUT THE HIKE:
Highlights: Splendid high country, wilderness, lengthwise views of Big Bear Lake, as well as the San Bernardino high line of peaks.
Near: Big Bear Lake, CA
Difficulty: Moderate
Distance: 6.9 miles or more
Duration: at least 3 to 5 hours
Elevation Gain: 1187 ft
Adventure Pass: Required!

ABOUT THE HIKE
The trail will take us to the old-growth forest, be treated to views of the surrounding peaks, and then reach the forested knob of Grays Peak, which has lengthwise views of Big Bear Lake, as well as the San Bernardino high line of peaks. It's such a nice area that two bald eagles decided to raise a family here.

Driving Direction to the trailhead: Take the 38 or 18 Highway Passing Big Bear Lake. Park in a large parking lot.
