2025-August: Bonita Falls/Silverwood Lake-Perseid Meteor Shower last Day/Level 2

Details

Today is the last day of Perseid Meteors shower active. However, the full moon interference won't get affected because moon rise at sunrise, so we'll have a totally dark sky for the view.
Perseid Meteors shower is active from July 17 to August 24, 2025.

**RSVP for Sat morning hike to Third Stream Crossing or 3Ts via Middle Folks https://www.meetup.com/hikingoc/events/308858674/**
**Otherwise, there will be a short hike to Bonita Falls in the afternoon (about 2 miles, 400ft gain) https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/bonita-falls-trail**

General Rating/Difficulty: **Level 2 moderate hike for distance, elevation and speed; Link to Hike RATING TABLE to read more about difficulty levels https://tinyurl.com/HikeRating**

We may check out sunset at Silverwood Lake before heading to Inspiration Point. Hopefully will have a great view of the meteors shower after midnight. It's the best time to be outside with comfortable temperatures at night of not cold nor hot.
Suggestions of viewing between midnight to dawn (12 to 4 AM of August 23 into 24 morning)
