***NO BEGINNERS PLEASE! This is an intermediate to advanced hike due to distance, pace, and altitude gain. If you are slow hiker and cannot stay with the group, this may not be the hike for you. ***
Distance / Time: Approximately 7 + miles/ 1500 ft elevation gain /3-4 Hours
Departure Time: 7:30 AM. This hike will start at the designated time. Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow for parking and introductions.
About This Hike:
This is a tough hike recommended only for those who have experience with hiking long distances and climbing steep slopes!
Please bring food and plenty of water. Hiking poles are strongly suggested.
Description:
This is a challenging hike, recommended only for those with prior hiking experience.
We will start at the Bell View Trailhead on Robinson Ranch Street. The trail features a mix of steep and very steep slopes, with conditions ranging from good to rough, making it a challenging route. Upon reaching the flag, we will continue for about two more miles before heading back down to the trailhead. There is no shade, so hats, sunscreen, and hiking poles are recommended.
Driving Instructions and Meeting Location:
Take I-5 to Exit 90 Alicia Parkway. Continue Alicia to Rancho Santa Margarita (turn right). Santa Margarita Parkway to Plano Trabuco Road (turn left). Plano Trabuco Road for approximately a half mile. Turn right on Robinson Ranch Road for approximately one mile. Pass Vista Dr. on your left Look for the picnic table in the park. Parking for the park and trail head is street side on Robinsons Ranch Road.
