Gaviota Hot Springs and Gaviota Peak (Level 2+)
Details
The Gaviota Peak Trail is primarily a fire road, which is wide and well-defined, while the Trespass Trail offers a narrower, more scenic route with breathtaking ocean views. Hikers are rewarded with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands, and the surrounding foothills, especially from the summit at 2,458 feet.
At the end of the return trip, we can visit the Gaviota Hot Springs. It is warm than it is hot, but the blue sulphury water attracts its share of bathers. The springs are half a mile from the trailhead and only a tenth of a mile off the trail to Gaviota Peak, making it a nice detour if you have tired legs to soak. If you want to soak in the hot springs, bring a swimsuit.
