Point Reyes - Estero Trail to Drakes Bay/Sunset Beach

Join us for an approximate 8 mile hike The Estero Trailhead is located at the northwestern end of the 9.7-mile-long (15.5 kilometer) Estero Trail. The Estero Trail meanders through coastal grasslands and scrublands with plentiful views of Drakes Estero and Estero de Limantour. MORE INFO HERE

It can be foggy, windy or exposed and warm! You never know! Check your weather apps and be prepared.

A few things:

1 Please know your limits, this is a longer hike with some up and downhill areas, but mostly meandering through the grasslands.

2 Bring MORE than enough water.

3 Dress in layers, wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots and hats.

4 Bring Sunscreen. Trail is NOT under canopy except the first 15/20 minutes.

5 Bring snacks, lunch or munchies,however there is a great grocery store in downtown Point Reyes or in Invernessif you need to get supplies.

6 Please check maps and timing. We willl be starting promptly at 10 am and there is no cell signal.

7 If you cannot make the hike, please go to meetup.com, log in and edit your RSVP to "not attending"

What cancels the event?

Extreme weather, fire, smoke, rain.

As a host of "Hiking with Pride", I want to make sure that we all understand that our hikes consists of different gender identities, ages, shapes and abilities. While Hiking with Pride is primarily focused on the LGBTQ+ community, we welcome our allies!

During our hikes, I ask that we respect each other, our differences and and help support your new friends whether it is simply giving a helping hand to someone to climb up or down a steep trail or simply stay behind and rest with those that are not as nimble as others.
