Join us for a weekend of car camping at Arapaho Bay (Lake Granby) August 15-18!
There are many recreational options in the area including hiking, kayaking and paddle boarding. The campground is around 35 minute drive from Grand Lake.
Reservations open 6 months in advance, which is this Thursday February 15th and spots will go VERY QUICKLY!.

Reservations can be booked by someone else in a matter of seconds. Advice: login in (username and password) to recreation.gov using the link a couple of minutes before 8am MST, figure out which site(s) you want to try for, and plug in the beginning and checkout dates for the site. At exactly 8am click on ‘add to cart’ and if you’ve succeeded, you’ll add the credit card info, etc. If it’s already booked, go to the next one on your list of preferences.
Roaring Fork loop is probably the nicest (closest to the water), Moraine second, Big Rock third.
Your chances of reserving your site may be better if you reserve Thursday through Sunday, which open up for reservations on 2/15.
Restrictions:
A single site holds up to 8 people. Double sites will accommodate more people.
Tents must fit on the pads provided (standard sites can fit 2, possibly 3 small tents max). Setting up a tent off-pad is not allowed (and is enforced, according to the host).
Note that canopies don’t have to be on the pads; they can be off to the side. That said, the canopies are often desirable over the picnic tables, which are on the pads.
Another limitation is number of cars – believe it’s 2, with possible overflow parking elsewhere.
RVs, trailers, or other vehicles must fit on the parking spur. Driving or parking off road is not permitted.
The parking length ranges from 20 -40'.
Pets must be on a hand-held leash at all times.

There are ten sites which are first come, first served (FF). These cannot be reserved. You just show up and can stay in the site if unoccupied. These are: 21, 27, 30, 33, 34, 37, 38, 43, 45, and 47. We’d assume that there might be some available if you arrived at 1pm Thursday, but much less likely if you arrived on Friday.
