Himeji Hiking Meetup Group

Let’s hike Mt. Shosha (371m), home to Engyoji Temple—a stunning cultural site featured in The Last Samurai! This easy hike is perfect for beginners and families. During May 3–5, the Spring Green Festival offers rare public access to temple interiors and national cultural treasures.

We’ll meet at 10:00 AM at Shosha Ropeway Station (easily accessible by Shinki Bus #10 from Himeji Station, about 30 min). The trail is gentle and well-maintained—even kindergarten kids hike it! It takes about 1–1.5 hours to the top at a relaxed pace.

Participation & Fees:
•¥1,000 per person (Free for age 14 and under, collected at meeting point)
•Temple entrance donation:
¥500 for age 13+
¥300 for elementary students
Free for preschool children (paid at temple reception)

書写山（標高371m）にゆったりハイキングしながら、映画『ラスト・サムライ』のロケ地・圓教寺を訪ねます。5月3日〜5日は「新緑まつり」期間中で、普段非公開の重要文化財が特別公開されます。

姫路駅北口10番のりばから神姫バスで約30分、終点「書写ロープウェイ」バス停すぐが集合場所（10:00集合）です。ルートは整備された緩やかな登山道で、地元の幼稚園児も登るくらいの易しい道。頂上まで約1〜1.5時間です。ご家族連れも大歓迎！

【参加費】
・中学生以1,000円（集合時に現金で回収）
・圓教寺の志納金（山頂の受付で支払）
中学生以上：500円、小学生：300円、未就学児：無料

This event is a special holiday edition, but we aim to hold regular weekly meetings in the future.
ゴールデンウィーク中はこの日時で企画しますが、今後は毎週決まった時間での開催を予定しています。

It’s a great opportunity for those wanting to improve their language skills, or for parents interested in language learning for their children.
ご自身の語学力向上を目指したい方や、子供の語学力向上を目指したい方などに向いていると思います。

The food court has a kids’ play area, so feel free to bring your children and enjoy the conversation while keeping an eye on them.
開催場所のフードコートにはキッズコーナーもあるので、小さいお子さま連れでも見守りながら安心して会話できます。

Please purchase something from the food court as the event takes place there.
※フードコートなので何かを注文して過ごしましょう。

Late arrivals and early departures are totally fine. Let’s discuss the flow with whoever attends on the day.
遅れての参加や早退も問題ありません。当日参加メンバーで話して決めましょう。

The event will be held if we have at least 3 participants (or 3 groups).
We’ll close RSVPs one hour before the event. If there are 3 or more RSVPs by then, please come to the venue.
We (the organizers) will also decide whether to go based on that.
最低3人（3組）いれば開催します。参加締切は開催時間の1時間前に設定しますので、そこで3人以上いれば会場にお越しください。
私たちもその時点で確認して、行くかどうか判断します。
