日本語と英語が混在するスタジオで、アメリカ風の陶芸を2時間体験できるクラブです。講師はアリゾナ州立大学で陶芸と彫刻の学位を取得したプロのアーティスト、ジュリアン・ヴァンダークックです。
セミプロフェッショナルと初心者の方々が対象となります。この体験が楽しく、フレンドリーでリラックスできるものになることを目指しています。中級以上の英語スピーカーで、英語を使った楽しいアクティビティを希望する方に最適です。また、ジュリアンは簡単な日本語が話せ、必要であれば技術を実演しますので、英語が話せない方でも問題ありません。
クレイ・バディーズは、座学スタイルの教室等ではありません。ジュリアンからの技術的なアドバイスを受けながら自分が作りたいものを自由に作っていただける素晴らしい機会を得られる場所です。
クラスに参加する前に、Google画像検索やPinterestなどのウェブサイトを利用して、何を作りたいかのアイデアを考えてくることをお勧めします。
ジュリアンは喜んで実演しますが、日本語が流暢ではないため、ステップバイステップの指導はご提供できません。もしそのような学習スタイルをお求めでしたら、他のスタジオ等へ行かれることを強くお勧めします。
このクラブには、少なくとも2回は参加していただく必要があります。作品を作成し、素焼き後に、再度お越しいただき施釉作業をしていただく必要があるからです。
参加を希望する場合は、参加日の2日前の正午までにご予約いただく必要があります。クラスの定員は4名です。
参加費の¥3000は各会の終了時にをお支払いください。
焼成と粘土の費用は50グラムごとに¥100です。
ウェットボックスを提供しますが、各作品は8週間以内に完成させる必要があります。
私たちはSDGsを真剣に受け止めており、窯が作品で完全に満たされるまで焼成を行わないため、素焼きと本焼きに最大6ヶ月かかる場合があります。
スタジオに3ヶ月以上放置された作品はリサイクルされます。
破損した機材については、その費用をお支払いいただく必要があります。
もしも、作成したい作品があなたの能力を超えている、または機材を損傷させる可能性がある、と判断した場合は残念ながらその作成を許可することはできません。
Spend 2 hours in a mixed Japanese English studio and try American style Ceramics with Julian Vandercook, a professional artist with ceramic and sculpture degrees from Arizona State University.
We are open to semi-professionals and beginners. This experience is meant to be fun, friendly and relaxed. This is great for medium or high level English speakers who want to do a fun activity that includes English. Julian can speak easy Japanese and can demonstrate techniques so English isn’t required.
This is an excellent chance for non-traditional learners to work and be creative in an open style studio where Julian gives technical advice but allows you to have the freedom to make whatever you want.
Before attending, we recommend doing a google image search or logging onto a website like Pinterest, so you can come to class with some ideas of what you want to make.
Julian is happy to demonstrate however he is not fluent in Japanese, so we won’t be able to provide step by step instructions. If that is your learning style we highly recommend trying another studio.
You must participate at least twice because you’ll need to make your work and come back a second time and glaze it after it’s been fired the first time.
You must RSVP two days before the event at noon, if you want to attend. The class size is limited to four students.
The participation fee of ¥3000 will be paid at the end of each class.
Firing and clay cost is ¥100 for every 50 grams.
We provide wet boxes, however projects should be completed within 6 weeks.
We take SDGs seriously so we make sure our kiln is completely packed full of work before we fire it as a result it may take up to 6 months for your work to be bisque fired and glaze fired.
Any work left at the studio for more than 3 months will be recycled.
Any equipment that is damaged will need to be paid for.
If we believe a project is beyond your ability or could cause damage to equipment, unfortunately we won’t allow you to make it.
