Rap & Hip-Hop Club: Bay Area Classics

Welcome Hip-Hop Music Heads! The purpose here is to learn about and share the rap & hip hop that you love for others to enjoy.

Each Meetup, a different musical lens will be chosen to highlight. This week's lens we're kicking off strong with hiphop/rap classics from the Bay Area. Classic means anything from the year 1980-1999, recorded in the bay.
Everybody brings an album of their choice related to that Meetup's particular lens and presents a song from that album.

We're here to hang out, so presenting a song is not required to attend. In order to present, please message me the name of the album/song you want to talk about, or if you need recommendations to get started.

Presenting is easy! I will pull up the album cover with the song title, and then you answer the following.

1. Who's it by and where are they from?
2. What year was the album/song released?
3. Where was the record produced, by who, and with what label (if any)?
4. What is the song about (Can be your interpretation)? Break down at least one bar.
5. Why is this song/album special to you? This can be deep or not complicated at all, no expectations.
6. Anything else. A fun fact, best time to listen, ask a question, whatever!

Each person will have 5-10 (flexible) minutes to present. If someone already presented your song, skip to question 4.

After everyone has presented, the floor will open to chat about the Rap/Hip Hop you've been enjoying lately (regardless of genre).
