About us

Historically Hers Book Lovers is a public book club founded by award-winning author Jill George — writer of 8 books and a PhD scholar who brings behavioral science to the study of history.

This is a club for readers who love historically true stories about the women history overlooked: the ones who broke the rules and changed the game.

We're built around events, not just discussions: teas, book launches, author gatherings, and outings, in person around Pittsburgh and virtual for everyone else.

Come for the books, stay for the company. All readers welcome.

You're invited to the Let Them Eat Cake Tea — the launch celebration for The Minister of Fashion, my new book about Marie Antoinette and Rose Bertin, the woman who dressed a queen and helped spark a revolution.
Join us Sunday, November 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Edgeworth Club in Sewickley for an afternoon tea with a twist: a fashion show by our newest fashion icon Michelle Ma Belle, bringing Bertin's world to life.
