Come and Explore Oxford’s Historic City Centre!
Discover the fascinating story of the University’s early years and development. How did a Medieval cattle crossing on the River Thames become a world-leading centre of learning? Delve into the history of the different colleges and learn about their quirky traditions and interesting characters.
Investigate the University’s iconic buildings including the Church of St Mary the Virgin, the Bodleian Library and the Sheldonian Theatre.
We will unearth other features of the city, such as historic pubs, museums, film locations and even the very first Oxfam shop.

It is strongly advised that you catch the bus into central Oxford as cars are actively discouraged and parking is VERY expensive! Currently Stagecoach and most other bus fares are set at a flat rate of £3 each way and most buses will take you into central Oxford. Alternatively, Park & Rides are an option. Please give yourself plenty of time to get there and reach our meeting point!
