Saddleworth Rushcart Festival and Museum

Details
The Saddleworth Rushcart Festival is an annual event held on the August Bank Holiday weekend, where a large, decorated rushcart is pulled by Morris Men through the villages of Saddleworth, culminating at St Chad's Church in Uppermill. The event was revived by the Saddleworth Morris Men in 1975, and is one of the few remaining traditions of its kind still going.
Saddleworth Museum tells the story of the people who have created Saddleworth’s landscape and character. The museum has something for all the family, is wheelchair friendly, and presents its’ collections, shop and facilities in a thoroughly modern way within the carefully restored fabric of a building dating back to 1862.
We will meet up at Kobe Coffee which is close to the museum at 1pm (as that's when the museum opens). Depending on what is happening we can either watch the Rushcart event or look around the museum first then see the festivities. Festival schedule will be set closer to the date.
