Hello History Bookclub,

After a lot of great suggestions and a close vote, for our next book we have selected Postwar: A History of Europe Since 1945 by Tony Judt. We'll meet on April 26 at 12:30 PM to discuss the book.

This is a long book (955 pages including footnotes and index), so please get an early start. If you'd like to join the discussion, please RSVP for the meetup. If you do RSVP and find you're unable to attend, we ask that you update your attendance. No shows will be removed from the group.

Almost a decade in the making, this much-anticipated grand history of postwar Europe from one of the world's most esteemed historians is a singular achievement.

Postwar is the first modern history that covers all of Europe, both east and west, drawing on research in six languages to sweep readers through 34 nations and 60 years of political and cultural change--all in one integrated, enthralling narrative.

Both intellectually ambitious and compelling to read, thrilling in its scope and delightful in its small details, Postwar is a rare joy.
