How to Get Patents that Matter by Darren Jiron

This presentation describes the importance of aligning a company's patents with its business goals, and it explains how to identify and most cost-effectively protect those technological features most important to the company's revenue streams. We also explain how to get "litigation ready" patents, because, after all, a patent will have little value if it cannot stand up to a challenger's attack in court.

About the speaker:

Darren Jiron is a partner at Finnegan, one of the world’s largest law firms focused solely on intellectual property. He has degrees in physics, materials science, and law, and his legal practice focuses on patent litigation and strategic development of patent portfolios. As an active member of Finnegan’s Israel practice, Darren has helped many Israeli clients from small start-ups to publicly traded companies develop strategic patent plans and patent portfolios that help to maximize corporate value and leverage against competitors. Darren is a former U.S. patent examiner and teaches an Advanced Patent Law course at Haifa University.
