The next Hive User Group Meeting is happening the last night of the Hadoop World Conference (http://www.hadoopworld.com/), Wednesday, November 9th, in New York City. The format will be a series of short (15 min) talks followed by un-conference style sessions and networking. The meetup is being hosted by Palantir (http://www.palantirtech.com/) at their NYC office. Food and drinks are being sponsored by Pervasive Software (http://www.pervasivedatarush.com/).
