Taiji Foundations Session
Details
On this Taiji Foundations session, we will focus on the Daoist principles of relaxation, smoothness, awareness, deep breathing and refinement of the internal processes. These will be experienced through the 4 main components:
1: SONG SHEN WU FA (太極鬆身五法)
You will be introduced to a highly refined set of 5 exercises created by Master HuangXingXian (黃性賢), a very accomplished Taiji teacher (teacher of our teacher Patrick Kelly).
These simple exercises are optimally designed to loosen the muscles, free the joints and turn the mind inwards. Regular practice will bring durable benefits to Body and Mind.
The 5 Loosening Exercises can later be practiced independently (morning or evening time are perfect for that), or be part of a Taiji or Meditation session.
2: TAIJI FORM
Experience an overview of the 1st part of the Taiji Form of Grand Master ZhengManQing (鄭曼青), and take the first steps in finding the inner elastic power and the benefits for the coordination of Body and Mind.
3: TUI SHOU (太極推手)
You will be introduced to the first few partner exercises Qi Dong (七動)and Dan Tui (單推).These aim to directi the practice towards awakening the sensitivity towards the partner’s Intention (Yi), Energy (Qi) and Forces (Jin)
4: MEDITATION
To close the session, you will be lead through the essential mediation for energy transformation from Lower to Middle Dantian (精Jing, 氣Qi), to direct our training efforts towards inner refinement.
