What does it mean to "find one's tribe"? Is it a human need? What if you fail?

For the purpose of this discussion, we mean "tribe" in the sense of a circle of people who are close to you in your life over the long term, which could include family, close friends, or anyone you consider as a trusted confidant (preferably ones you spend time with in real life, not just electronic connections).
