At Vol. 25, we are collaborating with VeloDB and Apache Doris to bring two insightful talks from expert speakers:
1️⃣ FROM STREAM TO INSIGHTS: BUILDING REAL-TIME ANALYTICS WITH APACHE DORIS & KAFKA
with Matt Yi, Co-founder & Tech VP at VeloDBReal-time data is the backbone of modern businesses. The challenge comes with bridging the gap between streaming pipelines and fast analytics.
In this talk, Matt will explore how Apache Doris, a high-performance real-time analytical database, integrates seamlessly with Kafka to deliver end-to-end real-time insights. Matt will touch upon:
- Native Kafka consumption in Doris;
- Confluent VeloDB-Kafka-Connect plugin;
- Real-time update capabilities.
By the end of this session, you will know how to build a truly unified and low-latency data stack for modern analytics.
2️⃣ APACHE DORIS 4.0: DATA WAREHOUSE IN THE ERA OF AI
with Eric Wang, Senior Solution Architect at VeloDBIn this session, we will take a deep dive into Apache Doris 4.0 and its big release in 2025. Eric will cover various use cases, such as:
- Data-intensive apps and BI;
- Agentic-facing analytics;
- Federated querying;
- Powerful vector search capabilities.
Eric will also lift the curtain on capabilities like vector search, hybrid search, MCP Server, RAG, and AI functions.
By 2027, almost all enterprises developing GenAI apps will be investing in data platforms with vector search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to complement foundation models with proprietary data and content (according to ISG research). Apache Doris is embracing this trend. In this session, you will have a clear understanding of new capabilities and the doors they will open for both developers and businesses.
