Lunar New Year Intermediate 5 mile hike and Feast at Mistuwa afterwards

Details

This is a multi-group event with over 50 participants.

Important change - Meet: State Line Lookout parking lot at 9:45
Driving Directions: Take the Palisades Interstate Parkway to the Exit for State Line Lookout, about 2 miles north of Exit 2. Follow the sign to the parking lot.

Drivers, please post with your RSVP if you have room for passengers and where you are driving from or can pick up passengers. I do not coordinate rides, so be proactive about offering carpool and contacting drivers. Post on the Meetup page.

Event details: There is rain in the forecast, nothing biggie but still about 50% possibility. So we play it safe. The hike will be like 5 miles. We will finish it within 3 hours. The detail route is - Go south from the parking lot and take the Blue/White Forest View Trail down the cliff to the water level and then make a left onto white the Shore Trail going north. After about 2 miles through the Giant Stairs, go uphill from the Peanut Leap waterfall. Once we get to the Long Path, Aqua color, make a left. The Long Path will take you back to the parking lot. The plan is to finish the hike before the rain, 1 pm and drive to Mistuwa for lunch. If you are late, just follow the plan and catch up with us on the trail.
After the lunch, we will go ice skating at Town of Secaucus' Ice Rink, 150 Plaza Center, Secaucus, NJ 07094 551-257-7207 Additional parking on 1st, 2nd, 3rd Ave and Roosevelt Ave (See posted picture). The session is from 3 to 5. It will take about 20 minutes to get there. We will leave Mistuwa after 2:30. Drinks after skating for re-hydration ;-)
You can come for any activity only or all. It's up to you.
No need for snowshoes or Microspikes.

There will be no sweep or other support. No one is obligated to wait for slow hikers. Everyone hikes at his/her own pace. In another word, you participate at your own risk. You need to find your own way out if you got lost or separated from the group. My phone will likely malfunction if you contact me for direction. There is a chance that we will hike in the dark. Remember to bring map, navigation device, water, lunch, change clothes, and headlamps, plus other hiking essentials. DON'T COME WITHOUT A HEADLAMP. The sun sets early.

No minors, no whiners.

Standard group disclaimers apply.
