In this inaugural Hobart Data Engineers Meetup, Kirk will give a tour of current applications of Data Engineering and how they are applied across various Cloud providers (aka. hyperscalers). From there he will review the emerging concepts and current competition in the control plane of the hyperscalers, and how companies like Snowflake are at the vanguard of this next stage of evolution.
Kirk Mower was born and raised in Northern California. After University he travelled a bit, he worked a bit, and then settled in Australia with his Australian partner. Kirk has worked in a range of technology fields, all with an emphasis on server-based technologies. Kirk has worked on IT projects in every capital city in Australia. In his opinion, Hobart is the best one.
