What we’re about
Location: Upstairs, New Sydney Hotel (87 Bathurst St, Hobart city)
The meeting runs for about 50 minutes.
Rostrum gives us training for all types of public occasions - from job interviews, work presentations, community organisations and family celebrations.
One member is rostered as Chair of the meeting. Typically, three members speak for 3-5 minutes on topics that are circulated each week. Other members practice speaking at short notice, and a short general business session gives the Chair an opportunity to handle meeting procedures in an efficient but fair way without time-wasting. A senior member acts as coach for the day.
Visitors are always welcome! Visitors are encouraged to watch and listen the first time, and then participate in something they are interested in.
Invest in yourself! Dedicate just one hour a week to sharpening your public speaking skills, and you'll gain confidence in your communication abilities.
Our experienced coaches provide constructive feedback to help you grow. Join us and practise public speaking in a friendly and supportive environment.
