This 6-mile trek winds through forest, past tumbling rivers and waterfalls, to a glassy swimming lake that's the perfect reward for the climb (yes, bring a suit and a snack — you'll want to jump in). Just an hour from the city, this is the kind of trail that makes you forget you're anywhere near New Jersey.
Cap off the day exactly how a hike should end: cold beers at 7 Lakes Station in Sloatsburg (dog friendly).
